texas minarils and fuels
Expert has expertise in the assessment valuation of fossil fuels (bituminous and subbituminous coal, lignite, natural gas, oil-shale, tar sands), precious metals (gold and silver), base metals (copper, lead, zinc, nickel), industrial minerals and building materials, iron-ore, and other mineral resources. He has conducted geological investigations and economically mineable reserve estimates, coupled with mine development planning, design engineering, mining methods and equipment selection, capital and operating cost estimates, economic and profitability analysis based upon the given commodity, and its supply/demand and cost/price analysis. Expert has worked for various mining companies in responsible line and staff positions for over 25 years, which entailed all the above functions.

mining (extraction)
mining engineering
tar sand
A significant portion of Expert's career has been devoted to solving mine operation and productivity problems. His experience also includes mine planning, engineering design, geological explorations, new mine development, existing mines operations, and productivity problems. He has prepared bankable project feasibility studies for project financing. Other key areas of Expert's expertise include the valuation of mineral properties, estimation of mineral reserves, managing exploration programs, and assisting in the development/assessment/mitigation of environmental impacts related to mining development project. He has also worked with building materials such as aggregates, sand and gravel, and crushed stones.

peat (fuel)
Expert can develop documents to solicit bids for contract mining of fuels resources owned by an Electric Utility Company or for procuring suitable fuels from other companies under short and or long-term agreements. He has evaluated the bids received on a competitive basis of levelized costs and net present value. Expert has also conducted audits of fuel supply contracts regarding appropriateness of fuel price escalations and adjustments as per the pre-determined contract terms and conditions including royalty payments, tax levies, and other "pass-through" cost provisions.

peat
resource mine design
resource-excavation mine development
resource-excavation mine planning
underground mining
coal mining
With hands-on experience in mine operations and management, Expert is very knowledgeable of a variety of strip, open pit, and underground mining methods. He is also familiar with mining equipment, including bucket wheels, draglines, shovels, scrapers, continuous miners, rock borers, drills, belt conveyors, trucks, dozers, and many other ancillary machinery in the extractive minerals industries. He is capable of rational evaluation of mining costs, identifying opportunities for overall mining cost savings, and recommending future mine operations productivity improvements for implementation.
Expert was the Project Manager for the evaluation of National Steel Corporation's iron-ore (taconite) reserves and concentration and iron pellets plant near Hibbing, MN. The study included the review of existing mine and plant facilities, ore reserves, capital and operating costs, mining and ore processing techniques, environmental analysis, and overall project economics and profitability analysis. He managed a project for the review and estimation of mineable ore reserves of oil-bearing diatomite deposits in California. Additionally, he conducted a management audit of coal and lignite mines in Texas and Louisiana to identify capital and operating cost savings through mining methods improvement measures based on cost/benefit analysis.
bituminous coal
lignite
low-rank coal beneficiation
subbituminous coal
surface mining
Expert has analyzed bituminous and subbituminous coals, lignite, and other fossil fuels as to their suitability for electric power generation and can assist in such fuels procurement planning including formulating favorable fuels purchase/supply contract terms and conditions. He can assist in contract disputes between fuel buyers and sellers regarding inappropriate fuel cost adjustments, insufficient or inferior fuel deliveries, failure to pay agreed upon fuel process, royalties, tax levies and can appraise the value of the resources in the ground or in the marketplace.
mining environmental impact
Expert has experience in baseline environmental data collection methods for developing coal, lignite, or any other minerals mining projects and planning for taking mitigating measures to lessen or eliminate environmental damage after mining. This include restoration and reclamation of mined-lands, maintaining subsurface and surface water qualities to allowable levels after mining. Also, he is knowledgeable about upgrading and using low-rank coals for electric power generation and other uses.
